Dirt Kid: In The Underworld is a story about fighting monsters and exploring a small world.
GB Studio realizes a childhood dream of mine: Making my own gameboy games.
Because this is the first game I've made with this software I decided it would be appropriate to take inspiration from the games I played as a child outside exploring parks and fields near my house.
As a kid, my siblings, neighbors, and I would imagine fantasy worlds with monsters and creatures to fight and befriend. The story and characters in Dirt Kid are some of the stories and characters I imagined as a child. I think 10-year-old me would really like this game!

is there more controls? i seem to get stuck really early bc i cant advance doors/dialogue
Just “a” to interact and arrow keys. Some pathways or objects block your path and need a requirement before you can progress.
WASD seems to be mapped to directional inputs as well. What's the keyboard analogue for GB "A" button?
It depends on your emulator. I think default might be "z" but I have mine set to "a"
Such a great game! These old school types of games are one of my favorites and this was so amazing. Can't wait what you will do in the future! :D
I don't know if you've heard of Game Development World Championship before (gdwc2019) but it's a competition for indie game developers where they can submit their games and it's free! It's great if you want some more visibility for the game and it only takes a couple of minutes to join :)
